What are little Rubber hairs on new tyres? Is there any purpose

The little rubber hairs on new car tyres are a by-product of the manufacturing process and serve no purpose after production. They are created when heat and pressure is applied during tyre manufacturing process then air escapes through small vent holes in the tyre mould, causing bits of rubber to stick out to the tyre.
